Caitlyn Phu is an Asian-American director and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. She has been creating since the moment she realized becoming a doctor was too much work.

She has directed, written, and edited multiple award-winning short films, television pilots, and music videos. In 2019, she was named the ‘Orange County Artist of the Year’ and a ‘Film Independent Future Filmmaker’. Since then, her work has screened at a number of notable film festivals, such as SXSW, NFFTY (Audience Award - 2025 , Jury Nomination - 2024,), the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, and Short of the Week.

She graduated from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with a degree in Television Writing and Production and has worked for Women in Film, Skydance Media, Local Time, and 3AD.
