Caitlyn Phu is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker drawn to surreal yet sincere stories about longing, avoidance, and the comedy of coping.

Her award-winning work has screened at festivals and platforms including SXSW, NFFTY (Audience Award, 2025; Jury Nominee, 2024), and Short of the Week. Additionally, her latest short film RETURN POLICY went viral on social media, garnering over 11 million views on Instagram. She is also a recipient of the 2026 Silver Lake Shorts Fellowship and named the 2019 Orange County Artist of the Year. She specializes in narrative filmmaking, music video direction, and occasionally making her parents proud.

She graduated from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with a degree in Television Writing and Production and has worked for Women in Film, Skydance Media, Local Time, and 3AD.
